When you think of CHIKARA, it's true that you first think of crazy characters, goofy matches and wacky storylines, but the wrestling always comes first, and no-one exemplified that more than Claudio Castagnoli. A lot of the things everyone loves about Cesaro started in CHIKARA. His team "Kings of Wrestling" with Chris Hero? They first formed in CHIKARA as a trio with Arik Cannon. The giant swing? He once famously swung Grizzly Redwood for one hundred rotations. His uppercuts? He once teamed with Daniel Bryan, and Dave Taylor under the name Team Uppercut. Cesaro's most famous storyline in CHIKARA is undoubtedly his involvement with Bruderschaft des Kreuzes. Led by Ares, the BDK were a ruthless Scandanavian faction; among its members were Castagnoli, Tursas, Sara Del Rey, Tim Donst, Daizee Haze and Pinkie Sanchez.
