10 WWE Superstars Held Back By Scripted Promos

8. R-Truth

R-Truth is a veteran of the WWE locker room now, but with the exception of a few weeks back in 2011, he's never been more than a low-to-midcard WWE superstar.

Fans will react, for a few seconds anyway, to the opening riff of his "What's Up?" entrance music, but the stereotypical rapper gimmick probably wasn't the best choice for maximizing Truth's potential all these years. Especially after seeing Ron Killings let loose a different side in the WWE Network show Swerved, fans have to wonder what could have been.

On Swerved, Truth's acting skills were spot on. Ron could change facial expressions and switch up his demeanor at a moment's notice, making for some very entertaining segments. Ron's range went from comedic to dramatic to tragic and back again.

Still, when someone with the natural timing and skills of Ron Killings has to secede to the writings of WWE's creative team, it's often not a good look. Little Jimmy notwithstanding, WWE's writers have often told R-Truth what's funny and what might work instead of the other way around.

There's other talents that have been given less, but if WWE could do it all over again with R-Truth, they'd be best to let him have more freedom.
