2. John Cena
WWE.comJohn Cena is WWE's top guy. And a great number of fans believe that he will eventually be replaced by Roman Reigns. With that being the case, what better man for Roman to beat in the ring? Defeating John Cena is not an easy task for any WWE Superstar, especially for one that is working to establish his own career and make his own way. But the issue of Cena will need to be addressed by both Roman and WWE creative at some point. And when it is, John Cena will have to do the job. Roman cannot possibly elevate to Cena's level without beating Cena himself. If Roman is meant to be the heir apparent to John, then John must eventually get out of the way for him. And that moment cannot happen if John is unwilling or if WWE insists on not allowing it to happen. And that would mean fans would not see Roman Reigns versus John Cena. For a generation of fans that are ready for a new top guy, it would be a waste to not see John pass the torch. When that moment could happen is anyone's guess. But it needs to happen. To imagine Roman getting to that level while John just quietly slides out of the picture with no major confrontation seems highly unlikely. John will surely be asked to do what's best for business and get Roman to that next level. Defeating John Cena will be practically all Roman needs to ascend to the top tier. But he needs one more.
