10 WWE Superstars Who Changed Their Finisher While On Top

3. Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan could twist you into a pretzel. He's got a ton of submission holds in his locker and through the infancy of his WWE career - and right up to main event level - he frequented the 'LeBell Lock' he'd used on the independent circuit.

Of course, the title of that hold changed. 'NO' Lock, 'YES' Lock, or whatever you want to call it, the move got the job done almost every time Bryan went over. But what happens when a Superstar with a submission move as their finisher encounters John Cena, and is supposed to win?

Ah, that's it. We need an impact finisher.

So that's what happened. Cena would never have given up to the 'YES' Lock, so Bryan knocked out WWE's golden boy with the 'Running Knee' - which weirdly hasn't been allotted it's own unique name even to this day. Bryan famously won the title at SummerSlam 2013 with the move, but lost it again after Randy Orton cashed in a Money in the Bank match in the aftermath.

Significantly though, Bryan used both his finishers in succession to win the title back at WrestleMania 30.
