10 WWE Superstars Who Changed Their Finisher While On Top

2. The Undertaker

For Undertaker, there was one almighty change to his identity around the turn of the millennium. He'd taken some time off injured, rejected an offer from WCW while recuperating and chose to reinvent himself ahead of his return.

The Deadman was no longer - at least for that time - and Undertaker returned complete with a new 'American Bad Ass' gimmick. A stark contrast it was to the character that a decade earlier scared the crap out of his with robotic mannerisms and horrific make-up. This Undertaker was scaring the crap out of opponents in a different way.

With his new entrance music, his new attire and his multitude of motorcycles came a brand new finishing move. We'd frequently see the 'Tombstone' and 'Chokeslam' in the future, but for this version of Undertaker to work he needed to sign off in style. It became known as 'The Last Ride'.

'Taker's alternative version lasted three years or so, before his original character returned having incorporated the best bits of his former self. His ability to recreate is one of the reasons for Undertaker's ridiculous longevity.
