10 WWE Superstars Who Could Take The Universal Title Off Brock Lesnar
3. Bray Wyatt
The old Bray Wyatt didn’t belong in Brock Lesnar’s orbit. ‘The Eater Of Worlds’ was stigmatised as a big match loser and a hokey, pantomime loser at that.
The new Bray Wyatt? That’s a different proposition. At this early stage he already looks like a destroyer. Yet it seems as though we’ve only seen hints of The Fiend’s full potential.
People are behind him too. The Firefly Funhouse was roundly acclaimed, with the caveat that WWE creative will surely mess this up at some point. We’re collectively waiting for the other shoe to drop but we hope it doesn’t.
So if WWE present The Fiend as a credible threat to Brock Lesnar we will accept it. Because we want it to be true.
So far, Wyatt has attacked babyface Finn Balór and cuddly old Mick Foley but with his layered imagery and unexplained “hurt” or “heal” hands he needn’t be a straightforward heel. Bray's new gimmick would be more interesting and unpredictable as an equal opportunities menace.
Defeating ‘The Beast Incarnate’ would be quite the statement. Both from the character of Bray and from the company: a tacit promise not to mess Bray Wyatt up again.
