6. The New Day
After months of corny segments and storylines that didn't amount to anything, The New Day impressed at SummerSlam in their SmackDown Tag Team Championships match against the Bludgeon Brothers. They were perhaps the first team to actually get a decent tie out of the gigantic champions, and as a result, the contest proved to be a lot more fun than it had any business of being.
The DQ finish may have been a cop-out, but it was worth it just to see The New Day get another title shot. SummerSlam proved that there is still life left in this once-great faction and they could very well pull off another run at the top. They've suffered through enough, and it's time to reward them with another major push in the tag team division.
