10 WWE Superstars Who Have Been Hurt The Most By The Wild Card Rule

4. The Miz

It would not have been a stretch to say that The Miz was well on his way to regaining the WWE Championship at this time one year ago. He was fresh off his feud with Daniel Bryan (whom he beat at SummerSlam) and was doing some of the best work of his career on the mic and in the ring.

Miz arguably would have been the perfect person to dethrone AJ Styles as WWE champion, but Daniel Bryan's sudden heel turn put those plans on the back burner. Despite that, Miz went on to become a better babyface than anyone could have ever imagined and engaged in a hot rivalry with Shane McMahon heading into WrestleMania 35.

His humiliating loss to Shane at WrestleMania was where WWE first went wrong with Miz and his move to Monday Night Raw immediately afterward didn't help matters.

For months, Miz has felt terribly out of place on the Raw roster, especially as a fan favorite. Although he's appeared on both brands almost every week thanks to the Wild Card Rule, he has mainly been utilized as a talk show host and not an in-ring performer.

His feuds with Shane, Dolph Ziggler and Shinsuke Nakamura didn't get him any closer to the main event scene than he was six months ago. Abolish the Wild Card Rule, put Miz back on the blue brand, and watch the man work his magic.
