10 WWE Superstars Who Have The Wrong Character Alignment

2. Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt is maybe the greatest example of WWE’s creative laziness hamstringing one of the most interesting and unique characters pro wrestling has seen in a while. Since debuting in NXT, Bray has proven to be a singularly dynamic and compelling creative force, with his high-minded promos, uber creepy ring entrance and in ring antics.

Despite being a crowd favorite while working heel for the entirety of his WWE run, creative can’t quite figure out what to do with him. Wyatt was riding a massive wave of momentum going into WrestleMania XXX, where he was soundly defeated by John Cena. He never fully recovered from the defeat in terms of character importance.

WWE briefly toyed with the idea of turning Wyatt face, teaming him with Roman Reigns on an April 11 episode of Raw to face Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio. The babyface fire that Wyatt showed in that match was astonishing, and a great preview of how compelling a face Bray with the crowd behind him could be. Unfortunately, Wyatt was injured the next night at a live event, dashing any hopes of an upcoming face turn.

With SmackDown Live’s thin roster of faces, a turn could make Wyatt a main event player. A feud between Wyatt and AJ Styles could set the world on fire if done right.
