10 WWE Superstars Who Need A Character Change
9. Jack Swagger
Jack Swagger is a bonafide athlete. A former All-American and record-setter for most pins in a single season of amateur wrestling, he’s about as legitimate a star as WWE has right now. He’s even a former Money in the Bank briefcase holder and World Heavyweight Champion, so his WWE résumé is up there too.
And yet, he’s been a directionless jobber for years now. Swagger could have avoided this list, had his recent draft to SmackDown Live resulted in anything more than ultimately jobbing to Baron Corbin. Unfortunately for the ‘Real American,’ this was nothing more than a false dawn.
Honestly, when WWEs periodical ‘spring clean’ comes around, it’s always a huge surprise to me that Swagger’s name is not on the list of those superstars unlucky enough to be ‘future endeavoured.’
While never really having the charisma required to be a top star, Swagger is a talented worker and, with a bit of a character tweak and some direction, could certainly establish himself as a solid hand in Smackdown’s midcard.
