10 WWE Superstars Who Need A Character Change

4. Sasha Banks

As it stands, Sasha is arguably the most popular babyface in the women’s division. She is seemingly universally popular with live crowds and always receives a good pop when she enters an arena.

However, the majority of her popularity is built on her impressive work in NXT, where she was predominantly a heel. I don’t think you’ll find many people who argue that her main roster work has been better than her work in NXT, because it hasn’t.

On the main roster, Sasha has been depicted as the typical ‘this has been my dream since I was a kid and I’m so happy to be here’ babyface and, given that she’s supposed to be ‘the Boss,’ it just doesn’t suit her.

In NXT, and in full-blown ‘Boss’ mode, Sasha was a fantastic heel – so good that she gained immense popularity with the fans. Both her promos and her in-ring work were fantastic and since her face turn on the main roster, something seems to be missing. She’s lost that edge that made her so good in the first place.

It would seem that the powers-that-be in WWE agree. Yes, Sasha is a two-time Women’s Champion, but both of her title victories took place on Raw, not on PPVs, and her reigns have been short and lacklustre.

Now that her feud with mega-heel Charlotte is seemingly over, surely now is a fantastic opportunity for Sasha to revert to the character that brought her so much success. She doesn’t even have to become a full-blown heel – a tweener character would fit her gimmick perfectly. She’s ‘the Boss,’ she should only be in it for herself.

Sasha is fantastic and has done well for herself on the main roster. A return to her NXT-era gimmick, though, would help to push her to the next level.
