10 WWE Superstars Who Recovered From Disgrace
5. Scott Hall
Alongside Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, there seemed few former greats more destined for an early demise than Scott Hall. His bleak slide from supremacy to obscurity had been an ugly battle with the bottle he seemed certain to lose. Hall had faced legal troubles as early as 1998 thanks to his increasing reliance on drugs and alcohol, dodging major charges after drunkenly groping a 56-year-old woman. It would be the one of many similar arrests for the former 'Bad Guy'.
A 2011 ESPN documentary on his descent was produced as something of a living obituary, profiling a man dying in front of viewers eyes, with pained acceptance from the talking heads. Hall contributed to the excellent piece himself, seemingly equally confined of his eventual fate.
Amazingly, it would be Jake Roberts' own recovery that would save his life. Pleased with 'The Snake's progress since moving in with him, Diamond Dallas Page agreed to work his magic on Hall. The picture of DDP, Roberts and the decrepit, wheelchair-bound former Intercontinental Champion told the story of his plight.
Hall's gradual recovery since has been truly remarkable. Despite minor slips, DDP's helped guide Hall to recovery and his own Hall of Fame induction in 2014. He now remains a regular on nostalgia shows for the company, and has even reverted to his 'Razor Ramon' persona in acknowledgment of his legendary early-1990s run.
