10 WWE Superstars Who Would Flourish In Lucha Underground
3. Matt Hardy
When Matt and Jeff Hardy took their leave from TNA in February 2017, there was plenty of speculation as to where they would wind up. Matt teased taking his "Broken" persona to every active wrestling promotion out there today, including Lucha Underground.
Obviously, it would have been a while before Matt could appear on the program due to their third season having already been filmed in full by that point, but fans couldn't help but wonder how fantastic a fit he would have been in The Temple. After all, Lucha Underground is all about going outside the box, being frankly unrealistic yet fun, which described "Broken" Matt Hardy to a tee.
Ultimately, The Hardy Boyz made their triumphant return to WWE at WrestleMania 33, squashing any rumors of them possibly appearing in Lucha Underground. It wasn't until December that Matt finally became "Broken," er, "Woken" in WWE, but at least he is apparently being given a measure of creative freedom with the gimmick.
Matt is doing well within the WWE system for now, but an eventual run in Lucha Underground shouldn't be ruled out. Seeing him have premonitions and attempt to delete The Rabbit Tribe would be, in a word, wonderful.
