10 WWE Superstars Who Would Flourish In Lucha Underground

2. AJ Styles

This selection should be considered a gimmie purely based off how AJ Styles thrives regardless of what promotion he is a part of. Before SmackDown Live, TNA was the house that AJ Styles built for over a decade, becoming a multi-time world champion and carrying the company on his back.

It was unknown how he would fare in New Japan Pro Wrestling when he made the move in 2014, but it proved to be a seamless transition with him winning the IWGP Heavyweight Championship immediately upon his arrival. Simultaneously, he continued to hone his craft in Ring Of Honor and have a remarkable run over there as well.

Finally, he crossed WWE off his wrestling bucket list at the onset of 2016, where he has been a permanent fixture at the top of the card ever since. Styles has said time and time again he plans to retire from wrestling while with WWE, but as one of the best wrestlers in the world today, there should be no question that he would flourish in Lucha Underground if he were to jump ship to The Temple down the road.

Even with a mask on, Ricochet (a.k.a. Prince Puma) was positioned as the face of Lucha Underground for the three years he was there. Styles could fill that void with ease.
