10 WWE Superstars Whose Music Was Cooler Than They Are

2. Goldust

Goldust might be many things - rock-solid worker, still-relevant element of the Attitude Era, groundbreaking character in his era of deliberate controversy and mainstream public attention. He is all of these, but he isn't cool. He first guise, as a human Oscar baiting a homophobic crowd, certainly wasn't. His later career as The Bizarre One was less controversial, but still didn't inspire many crowd members to paint themselves gold and grope themselves on cue. For all his underrated skill and ever-present contributions to the business, coolness has evaded Dustin Rhodes since he debuted in the WWE.

A constant in Goldusts's long career is his music, and here the character excels. An '80s-style synthesiser with twinkling chimes and a sinister minor key, it could have come from a Dario Argento movie and reflects not only Goldust's glamorous weirdness but also the unease with which he combats his opponents through his self-loving antics. It's dramatic, it's creepy, it's unique, and it's definitely cool.
