10 WWE Superstars Whose Music Was Cooler Than They Are
1. Alex Riley
Riley's career rarely threatened to ignite in the WWE. From his origins as The Miz's flunky to the angry ex-commentator role he played in NXT, he never found a unique angle or charismatic hook to get audiences behind him for good or ill. He was the model of a guy who looked good and wasn't awful in the ring, but who never seized the imagination of the wrestling's viewership.
But same could not be said of his theme. Say It To My Face was a nu metal-inspired track with a driving pace and stroppy synthesisers perfect for the business of getting oiled-up and grappling.
Unlike Riley himself, his music was distinctive enough to stand out. It was distinguishable from the mess of generic metal wrestling themes while still keeping the aggression of a loud, guitar-led noise. As the backing for a less generic, better-written and booked wrestler it could have been the harbinger of crowd adulation. At is it, it remains one of wrestling's coolest contributions to music.
