10 WWE Survivor Series Matches That Don’t Get Enough Credit

7. Rey Mysterio Vs. Batista (2009)

As popular as he was when playing babyface, Batista excelled when asked to act like an arrogant heel. Following a Fatal-4-Way bout at Bragging Rights also involving Rey Mysterio, Batista turned on his masked friend and kickstarted a feud against his former buddy. The resultant feud between both men merits more praise.

Facing off at Survivor Series in a straight up singles match, Batista and Mysterio only had seven minutes to play around with. That didn't stop them from delivering, and the finish to their brawl had 'The Animal' knocking Rey out cold following a trio of Batista Bomb finishers.

Drawing heel heat like never before during his career, Batista was on fire as a selfish villain. Although the Survivor Series match wasn't as epic as it could have been, the story told was a fine one and both men seemed to be enjoying the idea of working against one another.

This was the perfect way to ignite Batista's heel run, leading to major matches against the likes of John Cena at WrestleMania XXVI. Short or not, Rey vs. Batista is worthwhile.
