10 WWE Survivor Series Matches That Don’t Get Enough Credit
4. The Hart Family Vs. Shawn Michaels & His Knights (1993)
Jerry 'The King' Lawler was originally slated to lead 'The Knights' against The Hart Family at Survivor Series 1993, and was advertised for the show. Due to ongoing legal troubles outside of the company, Lawler couldn't appear. Quickly, Shawn Michaels was slotted in to replace him, even though the knight idea suddenly didn't make much sense.
Aside from the nostalgia factor, Survivor Series '93 wasn't the best card. In the bout examined here, Bret Hart teamed up with his brothers Owen, Bruce, and Keith against Michaels and his royal crew. Despite the fact that Keith and Bruce hadn't wrestled regularly in years, they both entered solid performances.
This is the kind of match that could have easily flopped. Whilst it is nothing special, iven the replacement of Lawler and some of the participants, it perhaps had no right to be as decent as it turned out. What really made the contest was the huge angle saved for the end.
Turning heel by arguing with his brothers, Owen's jealously of Bret came to the fore. Not only did this sow the seeds for impressive matches between the pair in 1994, the Survivor Series elimination bout itself was better than expected.
