10 WWE Survivor Series Matches That Don’t Get Enough Credit
3. The Undertaker Vs. Mankind (1996)
1996 was a banner year for The Undertaker. Following a dismal 1995, 'Taker was aided by a colossal feud with Mick Foley's Mankind character. First colliding on pay-per-view at the 1996 King Of The Ring, Mankind and Undertaker also had an infamous 'Boiler Room Brawl' at SummerSlam that August.
By November, their feud had been played out quite a bit. This is maybe why a singles match between both men at Survivor Series '96 isn't given the same attention as the first two clashes. Inside Madison Square Garden, Paul Bearer was suspended in mid-air, enclosed in a cage and hanging high above the ring.
The stipulation for the match called for Undertaker to get five minutes alone with Bearer should he win. That didn't happen, The Executioner (Terry Gordy in a crude mask) prevented 'Taker from hammering the portly manager.
Going close to 15 minutes in total, Mankind once again proved why he was the perfect enemy for The Undertaker. Those who loved the King Of The Ring and SummerSlam matches will adore this one too.
