While women's wrestling has been a jewel in WWE's crown over the past few years, the scene's regression in 2021 is concerning and must be addressed over the next 12 months.

Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks was an incredible match at the end of a lacklustre build and transcending weak storytelling through the weight of the moment and strength of the performances. Add Bayley to this group and WWE has a great top three to build around on SmackDown, but there's little beneath it.

On Raw, the situation is dire. Asuka had a long Women's Title run but never felt like the biggest deal in her division. The situation worsened when Charlotte Flair returned and the duo entered the tag division. Now, Rhea Ripley offers hope of a resurgence, but hers is already a reign of DQ and interference finishes.

NXT is talent-rich and stacked with potential, but the booking is now so far below the talent that it's borderline unbelievable. This used to be the best division in North America; now, it's wobbling.

The high-end stuff is always going to deliver when the likes of Bayley, Banks, Belair, Asuka, and Io Shirai are around. The performers are too good to be denied. Regardless, the way WWE presents these people has slumped.
