6. King Corbin Vs. Roman Reigns

Admirable in intent if not execution, Baron Corbin's victory over Roman Reigns took too long to arrive and left the viewer with too many questions in spite of something that should have felt conclusive.

Half way through a 22-minute brawl that should have gone 12, both Corbin and Reigns were battering the bejesus out of each other with the array of weapons on offer and that was to be commended. Unlike another example soon to follow, this was in keeping with the blood feud they've tried to craft. Roman's noble defence strategy against an army of Corbin helpers had a sniff of The Undertaker's failed efforts against Yokozuna at the 1994 Royal Rumble, but some fans would argue that that may well be the worst homework imaginable to try and steal.

But yes, they hit each other really hard as it genuinely felt as if one total d*ckhead wanted to provee a point while the other heroically battled that d*ckhead back to gain a measure of redemption. Problem (again), was, was the d*ckhead right? A real leader's mate would have arrived before Corbin and co managed to keep 'The Big Dog' down for the count, but none of them showed up until the stick-it-back-together brawl that took place throughout the rest of the show.

The company have twice failed to acknowledge why exactly nobody wants to aid Roman against a bunch of total pr*cks, and this point of principle felt too easy to labour upon as the match laboured along too. And they're not finished either. It's Royal Rumble season, Roman's already eaten dog food, and this - this - isn't finished. Happy New Year!
