10 WWE Wrestlers That Went From The Top To The Bottom Then Back Again

1. Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre's tale of redemption was well told in the run up to his WrestleMania match with Brock Lesnar, as much as a way for WWE to cleanse itself of another early 2010s career gone almost completely off the rails.

McIntyre doesn't give enough credit to himself (or doesn't in the promos anyway) because it makes for a better story, but his 'Chosen One' persona was destined to fail somebody as young as he was the booking failed to preserve him in the amount of amber required to get that gimmick over.

The push-that-wasn't-a-push saw him win Intercontinental and Tag Team gold at times when they were props more than prizes, but there was more traditional credibility to be found in title scraps than in his pleather-bound air guitar sessions with Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater. His WrestleMania crowning was the standard heroes journey, but the 'Scottish Psychopath' wasn't half the villain in his own story as he made out.
