10 WWE Wrestlers Triple H SAVED In 2022

6. Ricochet

No-one can say for sure whether or not the 'SmackDown World Cup' will become an annual, ongoing concern for WWE. It could end up being one of those one-offs that gets cast aside for other, newer ideas. Or, maybe (just maybe) it'll be viewed as the making of Ricochet.

One thing is clear though: Hunter thinks a lot more of 'The One & Only' than his father-in-law did. That's why the high-flyer has been allowed to express himself in lengthy matches (that 20-minute World Cup final probs doesn't happen if Vince is still calling the shots) and quit trying to add unnecessary "sports entertainment" fluff to his act.

In short, he's been saved from more creative purgatory.

Triple H understands how to squeeze the best from Ricochet - he's one hell of a worker bell-to-bell, and that should be emphasised way more than any charisma-led shortcomings outside the ring. Without 'The Game', the former North American Champion doesn't win that trophy or bounce into a potentially-cracking feud with GUNTHER.
