10 WWE Wrestlers Vince McMahon Didn’t Know How To Book

4. The Revival

How Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder were booked once Vince McMahon got hold of them reflects the WWE Chairman and CEO's attitude towards tag team wrestling as a whole, which is what ultimately led to The Revival asking for their release. Dash and Dawson didn't want the world, but to be part of a world in which tag teams were booked logically and with purpose in a fitting spotlight.

They weren't demanding main event spots: just a fairer slice of the pie for them and their peers.

This hasn't materialised, even with The Revival becoming FTR and jumping to AEW. Tandems like The Usos, New Day, and Street Profits are amongst the best in the world, yet the scene remains a footnote. This is unlikely to change while Vince has the power in Stamford.

Key players in NXT's vibrant tag scene, The Revival had a hot RAW debut opposite The New Day but were undermined soon after, becoming part of the same midcard churn as everyone else. Their classicism had no place in Vince's world, the Chairman decreed, and angles like Ucey Hot, the back-shaving, and their late-run losing streak left them without hope.
