10 WWE Wrestlers Who Are Having A Very, Very Bad 2021

1. Sami Zayn

It is no surprise that Sami Zayn is having a rough 2021 because that is the entire point of Sami Zayn's character. If Zayn's existence on the show was full of success, the gimmick would make no sense. It certainly wouldn't work. Sami Zayn's current character is that of a wildly neurotic individual who believes everyone is out to get him. Who is 'everyone'? Referees, agents, friends, enemies, it doesn't matter. If you are on the show, you are probably conspiring against Sami Zayn in some way or another.

What has Zayn gained from this paranoia? Absolutely nothing, of course. His trailer reveal was ruined by Kevin Owens, the same man who handed him a beating at WrestleMania. Zayn ended that experience on his arse, the recipient of a hard push by Logan Paul, himself wildly disliked by the fans in attendance at 'Mania 37.

Too much energy has been spent on fantasy-booking scenarios where uber-babyface Sami Zayn stands tall at the end of WrestleMania, world championship above his head as confetti reigns down around the new people's champion. For Zayniacs, this is reality now; Sami Zayn being made to look like a dork at every single turn. Expect more or the same as 2021 trudges further on.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
