10 WWE Wrestlers Who Are Having A Very, Very Bad 2021

Thought 2020 was as bad as it gets? Try being these WWE regulars.

Has 2021 been better than 2020? That depends entirely on who you are asking. Wrestlers and viewers alike were overjoyed to see fans back in seats at WrestleMania 37, but those same fans were subjected to an intense storm that may have had some wishing for the comforts of the ThunderDome. Make your own thunder joke if you so desire.

In the wacky world of WWE, good years are relative, what with the abundance of 50/50 booking and all that. Even so, some people seem to be having a worse time than others, be it because of constant losses, weird booking, being The Miz or being out-weirded by goo. When it rains in WWE, it pours.

Who is having the worst 2021 of all? That might seem like an open-ended relative question, but it is important that one guy on WWE TV currently has a gimmick that amounts to 'look like a geek at all turns and complain about it in the most geeky of ways'. You might think you're having a bad year, but you're not having a 'prime of your career being wasted on YouTubers' bad a year.

All of these performers deserve better, but it seems unlikely that 2021 will provide much sunshine when the rain stops.

10. Baron Corbin

Has the door shut on Baron Corbin? The former Constable/King has been on the cusp of the main event in WWE for a few years now but has been unable to take that next step, for whatever reason. Corbin is nowhere near as bad as his detractors like to admit but then he is nowhere near as good as his level suggests. It is a weird conundrum, albeit one that likely doesn't cross the collective mind of the WWE booking team.

Still, 2021 has been a losing one for Cobin so far. Only two men have lost more than his 11 televised matches in the year to date, one of whom is an enhancement talent (Drew Gulak). The other? Sami Zayn, a performer whose entire character is 'lose and complain about it'. Compounding that, one of Corbin's few wins actually came against the aforementioned Zayn.

Unless something changes in the very near future, the only way is down for Baron Corbin. With the exception of Zayn, everyone Corbin has beaten in 2021 also holds a victory over the King, a dramatic example of the 50/50 booking that may as well define this performer.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
