10 WWE Wrestlers Who Are Having A Very, Very Bad 2021

Don't be fooled by his day in the WrestleMania sun; Kevin Owens is having a bad year. In fact, Kevin Owens has been spinning his wheels in WWE for a couple of years now, doing little more than filling spaces and acting as a creative gatekeeper until others are ready to move into the main event spot. When was the last time Kevin Owens felt like a genuinely exciting presence on WWE TV?

Even if the answer to that question was 'last month', it is always too long ago. Owens is one of the best professional wrestlers on the planet, someone who ticks every single box that a professional wrestler should, yet his character has been spinning wheels for what feels like an age. Kevin Owens treading water represents the biggest indictment of WWE's creative process today.

What has Owens done in 2021? Lose to Roman Reigns most notably, as well as filling a spot in the Elimination Chamber. Sure, Owens and Sami Zayn finally got to tear it down at WrestleMania and tear it down they did, but the match was booked in order to get Logan Paul on the show. Owens may have given the YouTube star a stunner after the bout, but the focus coming out was all on Paul first, Sami Zayn second, Kevin Owens third.

Here's hoping Owens' 2021 looks up sooner rather than later. The guy is too good to be used as he is.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
