10 WWE Wrestlers Who Are Having A Very, Very Bad 2021

6. Mustafa Ali

Mustafa Ali RETRIBUTION

When RETRIBUTION stormed WWE RAW in August of last year, was this how it was always supposed to turn out? Was the plan always for the group to do a whole lot of nothing before abandoning Mustafa Ali? Surely not? If it wasn't for RAW Underground, the sad story of RETRIBUTION would hands-down be the biggest week to week creative mess of the last 18 months.

Mustafa Ali deserves so much more than he gets from WWE. Too much time has passed now for fingers to point at a poorly-timed injury ahead of WrestleMania 35. The RETRIBUTION story had the potential to make Ali a major element on the show but all it accomplished was pushing him further into the world of obscurity. For a performer of such immense talents, this is ridiculous.

Ali has a grand total of one televised victory in 2021, a three-minute win over Riddle on RAW ahead of two losing efforts against the same man with the United States Championship on the line, the second of which led directly to his charges turning on him. Even the most optimistic of Ali fans will admit that the future doesn't look good.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
