WWE can put a crown on him as much as they like, but it isn't going to undo the dreadful booking choices that have caused this once legendary performer to feel like another missed opportunity. Those unfamiliar with The King Of Strong Style before his NXT debut must have been blown away at first by this hard-hitting wrestler who's bursting at the seams with charisma. But those who see him now might not understand the hype.

It's tough to pinpoint exactly where things started to go wrong for Nakamura, as his main roster opening feud with Ziggler certainly was a poor start, but he'd been showing signs of slowing in NXT for some time before. All that's certain is that his career took a nosedive after his loss to AJ Styles at WrestleMania 34.

After this defeat, he soon faded into the background mulling around in the tag team division and finding little success. Even after his sudden popularity resurgence in the infancy of 2021, it's clear that he's suffered too many high profile losses and spent too much time out of the spotlight to feel like the true King of Strong Style.
