Up until now, we're yet to really see the fruits of Tim Wiese's wrestling labour. The former Germany goalkeeper has only made one WWE appearance to date, a dark match last November in Munich where he fought alongside Sheamus and Cesaro, but this story is just too fascinating to ignore.
Wiese played nearly 300 games for various teams in the Bundesliga - the highest level of Germany's football pyramid - as well as earning 6 caps for its all-conquering national side, the last of them in 2012.
The 35-year-old's decision to pursue a career in professional wrestling after hanging up his gloves - having bulked up considerably - was cause for significant press coverage back in Europe, and if he ever makes it onto WWE TV, there will be many here watching with keen interest.
