10 WWE Wrestlers Who Came From Other Sports
7. Goldberg - Football
Before he mastered the 90-second match, Bill Goldberg began his pro football career as a promising defensive tackle with the Los Angeles Rams in 1990. He would spend five years in and around various NFL franchises - most notably with the Atlanta Falcons, for whom he made his one and only start - before being struck down by serious injury, after which he turned his attention to the squared circle.
Whilst he is now better known for his subsequent career in sports entertainment - which, beginning in Ted Turner's WCW, saw him become one of the protagonists of the Monday Night Wars - Goldberg had a better football run than many of his fellow professional wrestlers. And remains, to this day, a respected voice in the world of MMA - a sport he also considered taking up after leaving the NFL.
