10 WWE Wrestlers Who Could Break Records Before 2020 Ends
4. Karrion Kross — Quickest Rise To NXT Champion
Judging by his debut entrance, Karrion Kross is in for quite the push in NXT. Kross and Scarlett made their way to the ring surrounded by smoke, pomp and circumstance, to a theme made for mass singing, complete with histrionics and a big-fight feel. The entrance had Triple H’s fingerprints all over it. Kross then decimated a chump in no time, the first of what will surely be many decisive victories.
How quickly will Karrion Kross rise to the top of the NXT food chain? If he manages to claim the NXT Championship before July 7, he will replace Kevin Owens as the fastest to the title. KO’s rise to the top was astronomic, helped no end by Sami Zayn winning the gold on the night KO made his debut, allowing Owens to immediately turn on Zayn and dethrone him just 62 days later.
Kross has a tougher task on his hands. For one, booking plans are liable to change at a moment’s notice right now as WWE struggles to contend with the health crisis. Secondly, the current NXT Champion is a heel, Adam Cole. The Undisputed Era could certainly work as tweeners, but is Kross going to dethrone the longest-reigning NXT Champion in history in front of no fans? Unlikely. Could he defeat a transitional champion in such circumstances? Almost certainly. He has less than two months to do so.
Tick tock.
