10 WWE Wrestlers Who Got Over Against ALL Odds
6. Baron Corbin
Baron Corbin is a fascinating professional wrestler, as, for a long time, the most reaction he could conjure up from fans was apathy at worst and mild respect at best. No one loved or hated him; he was just a permanent part of the program that viewers accepted.
This wrestler's impressively lengthy career started down in NXT where he squashed enhancement talent and took part in some decent feuds. He then debuted on the main roster, winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale, an accolade known for building guaranteed new stars *ahem*.
Corbin was fine on the main roster but dull. The fans were never too invested in him as his slow in-ring work was often boring, and while his character work was decent, it rarely went anywhere, with highlights like "Happy Corbin" few and far between.
Thankfully, things picked up back where they started.
Corbin returned to NXT in 2023, and it has saved his career. His connection with the developmental wrestlers, especially Bron Breakker, made use of his experience. Plus, his passion for the product and involvement in great matches/stories have helped audiences to get invested in this often-overlooked wrestler.
