5. Alexa Bliss
It's safe to say that Alexa Bliss' time on NXT was totally unremarkable. She never did anything to make fans dislike her, but she didn't do much to get over with them either. But her career unexpectedly shot up like a rocket after she hit the main roster.
Bliss started her WWE career doing bit jobs like appearing in Triple H's WrestleMania XXX entrance. She eventually got into the ring with a glitter fairy gimmick and proceeded to do precious little, with her biggest traction gain being her partnership with Blake & Murphy. She was a talented but overlooked performer on the highly competitive NXT brand.
However, things changed dramatically after the main roster called her up. She quickly made a splash and entered the title picture, becoming the first-ever two-time SmackDown Women's Champion within a year. If you saw that coming, then you must be psychic.
The vast majority of NXT call-ups don't achieve the same level of success they had on the smaller brand. But, damn, Bliss really became a whole new entity.
