Damage CTRL debuted to a great amount of fanfare at SummerSlam earlier this year, as the returning Bayley brought along the tandem of Dakota Kai and IYO SKY from NXT. Kai had been released from the company in April, whilst the former Io Shirai had not competed in the company since the same month due to an injury.

The group's formation had Triple H's fingerprints all over it, as he has had a hand in each of the women's WWE careers on the old black-and-gold version of NXT. Despite this, the faction has not been able to reach its full potential as of yet, having failed to topple Bianca Belair as the dominant Raw Women's Champion, who has consistently had the better of their leader Bayley.

SKY and Kai have managed to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships on two occasions, but the trio has constantly played second fiddle to the likes of Belair and the in-form Rhea Ripley when they appear on television. Damage CTRL will likely have to split up soon as they have failed to dominate the women's division in a way they seemed set to after their debut.

Survivor Series WarGames provides one last chance for the group to have a good showing in order to salvage a meaningful run for the three talented wrestlers.
