10 WWE Wrestlers Who Peaked In 2017

Those early suggestions that Jinder Mahal was merely a flash in the pan have proved to be wide of the mark. The guy held the WWE Championship for close to six months, putting him in a group of wrestlers so elite that not even Ric Flair is a member.

At the same time, it's hard to ignore the fact that when it came to driving up Network subscriptions on the eve of Survivor Series, the company ultimately decided that the prospect of AJ Styles in the main event would be more enticing to fans than the Modern Day Maharaja.

Given the slapdash booking which saw Jinder shoehorned into the main event scene back in April, he perhaps did as well as could be expected. But there always seemed to be something missing, evidenced by the lukewarm crowd reactions that greeted many of his in-ring segments.

There are many, like him, who have fallen back down the pecking order after a whirlwind maiden title reign, and with with the likes of Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura in his way, the 31-year-old faces a similarly uphill task to reclaim his spot.
