The Undertaker vs. The Rock vs. Kurt Angle from Vengeance 2002 is still considered to be one of the greatest Triple Threat showings from any trio yet. Admittedly, the closing stretch was akin to a three-way from one of WWE's video games of the era more than a logical wrestling match, but it somehow worked. Fans eagerly awaiting SmackDown: Shut Your Mouth on PS2 were thrilled by this style of finisher spamming.

WWE knew they needed to fill the void before new monster and King of The Ring winner Brock Lesnar challenged for the title at SummerSlam, so they figured putting Rock and Angle in the title mix with 'Taker would at least get them through Vengeance. Nobody backstage assumed that these three guys would produce something as spectacular as they did, or that 'The Phenom' would lose the belt so Rocky could lift Brock up the following month instead.

That's what happened though.

A string of counters and finishers had fans at a fever pitch before Rock hit one last Rock Bottom on Kurt for the pin. Being honest, 'Taker had to be delighted he was part of a match this dynamic after a few months of stinkers vs. Steve Austin (Backlash), Hulk Hogan (Judgment Day) and Triple H (King Of The Ring).

Going full tilt with Rock and Angle suited the soon to be dethroned champion, then he moved on to better things vs. Lesnar later in the year. Few Triple Threats followed the 'one in, one out' formula more closely than this one, and fans lapped it up.
