11 Biggest Conclusions Drawn From WWE Night Of Champions 2015
1. Sting Lives Up To The Billing
Sting’s first match in WWE at WrestleMania 31 against Triple H was greeted with mixed reactions. In the ring, it wasn’t particularly impressive, but it shined due to the blanket of nostalgia it was wrapped in. However, on this evening, Sting decided to lay it all on the line, and turn back the clock with a vintage performance.
Sting looks like the best 56 -year-old we’ve ever had the privilege of watching, not only cosmetically, but also physically. He started the match with tremendous energy, and overcame getting hurt late in the match to craft a gem, in what is more than likely his last World Title match.
Furthermore, he looked like a legit challenger, and not just a nostalgia act. We can only hope his next appearances are of the same quality. I highly recommend watching this match from beginning to end to fully appreciate what this 56-YEAR-OLD man went out there and did.
With news breaking late that he may have suffered a career ending neck injury, Sting went out like a gladiator who made some of the most jaded fans step outside themselves, and become kids again when he locked in the Scorpion Death Lock. For a moment, a Sting championship win didn’t seem like the worst thing in the world.
