11 Biggest Conclusions Drawn From WWE Night Of Champions 2015

4. John Cena Is Now A 5 Time US Champion

In the semi-main event, John Cena defeated Seth Rollins to win his 5th United States Championship, and in the process continued the best year of his career, with another cracking PPV match to add to his robust resume. While it wasn’t an overly dramatic match, it flowed well. The reversal of Rollins buckle bomb, into the hurricanrana was legitimately an awesome moment.

HE ALSO DIDN’T DO A SPRINGBOARD STUNNER. HURRAY!

Where Cena goes from here is a question mark as far as potential PPV opponents, but one thing that surely is welcome to be re-instituted is the John Cena open challenge. It was the gimmick that plucked Kevin Owens from NXT, and Cesaro from obscurity.

However, with 2016 rapidly approaching, WWE will have to look at finding a successor to the US Title when Cena is ready to challenge for the World Title again, and do it correctly. To spend the year building the prestige of the US Championship, only to make it a joke again would be a tremendous error on WWE’s part.
