11 Female Wrestlers Who Were In WWE At The Wrong Time

Gail Kim's WWE career could only be described as unfortunate.

She debuted in 2003, winning the Women's Championship on her first night in a Battle Royal. Fans suspected great things from this ultra-talented in-ring competitor. Here was a new face who didn't fit the mould of what a WWE Diva should look like, winning the title in her debut match.

After losing the title to Molly Holly just 28 days later, Gail found herself in a supportive role; competing in tag matches, or booked to lose in multiple title matches, Gail never held the title again.

After departing WWE in 2004, Gail would go onto have her most successful run as a serious competitor in TNA, where she held the Knockout's Title multiple times. Three years later, she returned to WWE and many thought that she would be used much better than she was the first time around. However, this was not the case.

At this time, the women of WWE were not booked to steal the show that only someone like Gail knows how to do. Instead, she was mostly seen competing in WWE Main Event, Superstars, or as a supportive player on Raw and SmackDown.

Gail never had a title reign during her second time in WWE. The most frustrating sight to behold was seeing Gail in dresses and evening gowns, escorting the Guest Hosts of WWE Raw down the ramp instead of competing in matches that lasted longer than five minutes.

Her final night in the WWE was in a Battle Royal where Gail purposefully eliminated herself by rolling underneath the bottom rope. Since her departure from WWE the second time around, Gail has been vocal on social media about how badly women were booked both times she was there and wished that WWE had done better.

Gail would have fit right in with today's group of women as they are being taken more seriously than ever before.

Evan has been a wrestling fan since the age of seven, a time when children should not have been watching wrestling. That's right...the attitude era!! He loves talking about wrestling, writing about wrestling, and fantasizing about working for a wrestling company one day. Aside from that, he loves all things pop culture: movies, music, and TV. He also loves to read, travel (even though he doesn't do much of it), and explore new things about this crazy ass world.
