AJ Lee is the woman that actually convinced WWE to change their ways in regards to the opportunities afforded to the women of the roster. When Stephanie McMahon congratulated Patricia Arquette on her Oscar victory in 2015 and thanking her for fighting for women's rights, AJ Lee took to Twitter to point out WWE's hypocrisy on this issue.

Just a few short months later, Stephanie formally announced WWE's Women's Revolution, bringing up Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Sasha Banks to the main roster from NXT and emphasizing that the women will be featured more heavily than ever before.

Before this, however, AJ Lee managed to have quite a career, becoming the Divas Champion three times, as well as being involved in a number of big storylines. One of her most memorable storylines involved AJ being the secret admirer of Kaitlyn, only to have the ulterior motive of publicly humiliating her. The two feuded for several months for the Divas title, with AJ getting the better of it.

She also was romantically involved with Daniel Bryan for some time before being named the General Manager of Raw. After feuding with Paige for the Divas Title, in a "hot potato" storyline, AJ's career began to come to a close.

She may not have been remembered for her feuds with other female talents, but AJ will be remembered for fighting the fight that WWE was not: giving the women of WWE more time to shine.

That is something to be respected.

Evan has been a wrestling fan since the age of seven, a time when children should not have been watching wrestling. That's right...the attitude era!! He loves talking about wrestling, writing about wrestling, and fantasizing about working for a wrestling company one day. Aside from that, he loves all things pop culture: movies, music, and TV. He also loves to read, travel (even though he doesn't do much of it), and explore new things about this crazy ass world.
