Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle had one of the best matches of the modern era when they clashed at WrestleMania 21. Despite how smooth it looked in the ring, things between the pair were not always easy. Angle was annoyed at what he perceived to be HBK's over-selling of moves. "I always found Shawn to be an entitled prick," former WWE Creative writer Alex Greenfield told Live Audio Wrestling in 2013. "He tried this sh*t with Angle one night; Angle wasn't having it, and threw him around like a rag-doll." When the pair got backstage, Michaels argued with Angle for taking liberties. Angle shot back that HBK was doing his usual nonsense of overselling because he was having to do a job. The belief was that HBK only peformed properly when working with his friends. Nevertheless, the pair had an awesome match at Mania 21. The rematch at Vengeance 2005 was arguably even better than the first.
