11 Most Disappointing Things About WrestleMania 33

5. The SmackDown Tag Teams Were Demoted

With such a huge roster - and the show already taking up basically an entire day - there were bound to be disappointing cuts made. After all, it’s impossible to feature everyone and WWE at least makes the effort to get as much talent on the card as possible, in some form or fashion, so they can earn themselves a 'Mania payday.

In my opinion, the most frustrating of these cuts was the entire SmackDown tag team scene being demoted to the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. The champions, American Alpha, spent their first WrestleMania as cannon fodder for guys like Killian Dane and Titus O’Neil, while top challengers such as The Usos and The Fashion Police did the same.

AA winning their first Tag Team championship could and should have been saved for a “WrestleMania Moment” but instead ,WWE pulled the trigger on it far too early.

It’s partly due to how shallow the division is, since SmackDown has already ran through nearly every possible combination of title matches, but it would have been nice to see American Alpha and The Usos have a chance to work a bout together rather than be ring fillers in a nothing match won by a guy who has probably already peaked.
