11 Most Disappointing Things About WrestleMania 33
4. Mojo Rawley...Really?
Mojo Rawley is a fun dude. He’s an energetic guy with infectious enthusiasm that is basically wrestling’s version of a hype man. But not one that gets hype, one that stays hype.
What he (probably) isn’t, is a star-in-the-making. Paired with Zack Ryder as The Hype Bros, they were a great act for live crowds to enjoy, but not one to be taken as a serious threat.
Mojo was one of the last people anyone would have assumed would be winning the match. I suppose you could say that’s what made it an effective surprise, but if it wasn’t for WWE jumping at the chance to include his real life friend and Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, Rawley likely would have been tossed out in the opening moments.
WWE had a chance to cement Braun Strowman as an even bigger monster, send Big Show off into the sunset at his final WrestleMania with his second Andre victory or make a new superstar by having them go over. Instead, they opted for the cheap pop celebrity spot for a guy who they’ve never shown to have any real plans for.
And don’t get me started on Gronk’s awkward body language and ridiculous facial expressions.
