11 Most Random Money In The Bank Ladder Match Participants In WWE History
8. Alex Riley
During the early stages of his career, 'A-Ry' was well and truly a star on the rise. Jumping from Season 2 of game-show NXT in 2010 straight to prime-time Raw as The Miz’s protégé/lackey, Riley seemed destined for big things around the time of his lone Money In The Bank Ladder match appearance in 2011. Alas, this was not to be.
Riley had the look and physique which the company craved, but he lacked charisma in spades and this would be his eventual downfall. Before this was irrefutably realized however, Riley spent 2011 working alongside WWE Champion The Miz in main events on both Raw and pay-per-views, including WrestleMania 27. He even beat The Miz clean at Capitol Punishment during the duo’s breakup feud. A continued push for himself towards the main event culminated with a spot in the WWE Championship briefcase match at the 2011 show, but A-Ry was unable to make much noise, and promptly fell down the card in the aftermath.
He suffered from losing streaks, and a move back to NXT and even a switch to commentary on the developmental brand. It just wasn’t meant to be, making him nothing more than a footnote in the lineage of Money In The Bank.
