11 Most Random Money In The Bank Ladder Match Participants In WWE History
9. Fandango
Sometimes multi-man gimmick matches such as the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and Money In The Bank allow otherwise underused talents to shine when handed a brief moment in the spotlight. This often does not correlate with the trajectory of the superstar’s booking, but nevertheless, it was charming to see perennial loser Fandango thrive in MITB, despite how random his it was.
2013’s pay-per-view was sold on two staple ladder matches, which each offered a vastly different flair and stature of superstar. Main evented by the All-Stars Money In The Bank Ladder match featuring all former world champions, the show opened with the criminally underrated World Heavyweight Championship briefcase ladder match, which showcased 7 rising stars who were interestingly all heels.
The goofy but popular ballroom dancing Fandango naturally appeared in the shows opener and had every intention of making a name for himself. HIs highlight came when executing a brutal sunset flip from a ladder to Wade Barrett, and Fandango absolutely made the most of his opportunity in this match. This makes it all the more unfortunate that he did not receive anything close to a push going forward.
His gimmick had an obvious ceiling, but he was a performer who deserved better than what he got in terms of his ugly win-loss ratio after MITB.
