Asuka continued her unstoppable run through the women of NXT last night by defending her NXT Women's Championship against Nia Jax. The match itself probably exceeded expectations, with Jax arguably putting in her best performance yet. She is still extremely methodical in the ring, but didn't look out of place against her more experienced opponent and showed once again that the WWE Performance Center exists for a reason.

Still, it is clear that some rebuilding work is needed on the NXT Women's division. With Nia Jax vanquished, who other than Bayley is lurking on the horizon when it comes to title shots? Interestingly enough. TakeOver: The End... was the first NXT special event since the very first one not to feature one of Becky Lynch, Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Bayley.

The hole left by those four women is slowly becoming harder and harder to fill. Asuka is a fantastic performer to carry the division, but she needs to have people to kick along the way. Fresh blood is needed.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
