10. The Blood Incident With Batista

Not one of those moments that made its way into a storyline and onto television, but one of those more famous backstage incidents that proved Vince McMahon and the powers that be at WWE were liable to make Jericho look an A** Clown whenever they wanted... Jericho and Batista faced-off inside a steel cage in a match that would end up costing The Animal especially more than a slice of his career, as matches of this type often do. The former Evolution member bladed during the match which went against the new mandate in the company at the time, which banned blood and blading and got the pair into deep trouble with Vinne Mac. Dave still had his mind in the times where a blow to the head with a steel object would make you bleed, but as we all know this isn't the case in the modern era. As the pair made their way backstage there was a lot of shouting and screaming, where McMahon told of how he would deal with the situation at a later date. Jericho, being the older and more respected ring general of the pair, tried to call Vince and take responsibility for what had happened, where the owner, in repost, said: "Shut up, f**k off, I don't want to talk to you, I'll talk to you next week. Go f**k yourself." Dave was fined $100,000 while Chris, match producer Dean Malenko, and referee Mike Chioda were each handed a $5,000 fine. So Jericho was punished for something that someone else did... He will have been relieved when a guilt-ridden Animal paid all four men's fines off. Respect.
