11 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Sep 9)

6. Campaign Fail

MJF Wardlow
AEW

Huge developments in the MJF/Wardlow relationship last night, as 'The Salt of the Earth' reminded his beefy bodyguard that he literally owns him.

A more perfect dynamic AEW could not have introduced here. Wardlow is immediately sympathetic as Max, not Tony Khan, is writing his paycheque, leaving his destiny in a malevolent paymaster's hands. Beneath this is the existing sympathy from MJF blaming Wardlow for his inability to beat Jon Moxley, saying he threw him the Dynamite Diamond Ring about as quickly as the "illiterate hulk" reads a book. When the big beefy boy stepped to MJF, he was struck down by words.

Having already dissolved his campaign party, MJF threatened to put Wardlow and his whole family on the streets, but said this wasn't the time for aggression or anger. No, this is the time for planning and getting back to the top.

Just great stuff. A top reaction from a guy enraged by Moxley's pay-per-view cheating - and Wardlow is going to make a killer babyface someday.
