11 Wrestlers Who Are The Dark Horse To Become WWE Champion In 2015

2. Roman Reigns

In the middle of 2014, this was the obvious choice. Roman Reigns was pretty much penciled in to be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara. The seeds were planted at the Survivor Series nearly a year ago when he was dominant in the traditional 5-on-5 match. Then he broke Kane's 13-year record of Royal Rumble eliminations with a total of 12. After The Shield broke up, Reigns would go on to his first ever title match at Money In The Bank last June in an 8-man match with the title hanging above the ring instead of the suitcase. Unfortunately Reigns would be sidelined with emergency hernia surgery this past September and will be out for an undisclosed time. Most likely the Rumble could be his return at the latest; however, some reports say he may only need six weeks to heal, and could be a surprise team member of Team Cena at Survivor Series. The time off will let Reigns take a rest mentally and physically, and it will be no surprise that he'll come out swinging in 2015. You can almost guarantee he'll have a shot at the title next year, but time will tell if the injury derails any championship "reigns" next year.
